At Karen Blixen Camp, you will never be bored. The camp is dedicated to responsible wildlife experiences and guests are encouraged to explore the Masai Mara Ecosystem. Guests participate in game drives within Mara North Conservancy for an exclusive and private safari experience. The number of vehicles is limited and there is a low impact from tourism. Guests experience the magnitude of the savannah on foot with tours with armed guides. Nature walks happen on the campgrounds and focus on the diverse birds and insects and how indeigenous plants are used for medical and ritual purposes. Guests take balloon safaris to see the Masai Mara plains from an entirely different perspective. Guests can also visit the local village, Maasi Manyatta, and experience the school, market, and church.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all served in the restaurant or bush garden that overlooks the Mara River and wild animals. Since guests come from a wide variety of countries and cultures, the menu reflects diverse tastes. Guests choose from lamb, beef, fish, and vegetarian dishes that are all made from local ingredients. The meat is sourced from ranches around Mount Kenya, fruits are grown at coastal areas, and vegetables are from the Kenyan highlands.
