MV Solomon Star Liveaboard
Solomon Islands Dive Expeditions
The Solomon Islands have some of the most pristine dive sites in the world. Unspoiled because of the remote location, there are not many divers to put pressure on the reef and fish. Divers experience caverns, wide-angle reefs, large sea fans, soft corals, lots of macro. There is an incredible diversity of hard corals. In fact, the diversity of the Solomon's is hard to beat.

The Solomon Star is a 22 meter Catamaran live-aboard dive vessel. She is spacious inside and out and has been specifically designed with divers in mind. Each cabin has en-suite toilets and showers for your comfort. All rooms are also fully air-conditioned. Solomon Star has an extensive open dive deck with excellent storage capacity for extended passages and for storing delicate equipment. The majority of the dives are done directly off the deck rather than off skiffs meaning we can offer more dives and longer dives than any other operator. As a steel hulled catamaran she is the most stable and maneuverable vessel in the Solomon Islands, ideal for making crossings in all types of weather.

Maldives Far North Expedition on the Explorer Ventures Carpe Vita
December 30, 2015 to January 10, 2016 - $4164 per person
The Carpe Vita meaning “Seize Life” was built in the Maldives by Amir Mansoor and started operations in 2011. The charters cater to a maximum of 20 divers with 10 cabins on 3 decks thus providing more space than her sister ship, the Carpe Diem.
Join us on an 11-night new route and itinerary for the Carpe Vita December 30, 2015 to January 10, 2016. This fantastic liveaboard will take you to some new and seldom visited reefs and as yet unexplored dive sites.
Explorer Ventures has come up with a unique routing that nobody else is doing yet, starting and ending in Male to avoid domestic flights needed. However due to the additional distance covered there will be an increased fuel surcharge. Because of the distance we need to cover, the minimum amount of nights needed to do this trip is 11 nights or more. These will be the first trips conducted by us to the far North and even though a lot of sites are known to us there will be some exciting exploration of new sites during the trip as well. The trip will take the guests away from other boat traffic, meaning you will be the only boat on most of the dive sites the further North we go. The North is characterized by beautiful reef formations and abundance of fish life. The trip will have some great shark life as well as manta cleaning station sites and an exciting site with friendly green turtles. By adding Ari atoll and Vaavu atoll at the end you will still have a chance to see the whale shark and do the famous manta and whale shark night dives but more boat traffic there to be expected. The trip will only be able to offer 3 dives a day. Planned trip route is shown on a map below.
North Male – Lhaviyani – Shaviyani – Haa Dhaalu – Noonu – Raa – Baa – Rasdhoo – Ari – Vaavu – South Male
This package includes: 11 nights lower deck accommodations aboard the vessel; 3 meals daily, plus between-dive snacks; 3 dives daily (except for on day of arrival and day before departure) including one or two night dives; use of tanks, weights and belts; non alcoholic beverages and 2 glasses or beer or wine with dinner; airport transfers on the days of embarkation/disembarkation; GST 12%.
$4164 Per Person plus $400 per person fuel surcharge and $6 per day Government Green Fee

Our last dive trip was to Cobalt Coast Resort and the service is first class, meals are ordered off the menu, not buffet, diving with DiveTech was excellent, and we loved the afternoon shore dives off the end of the pier. And we had a blast at the Stingray City dive. Amazing creatures. We can't wait to return to spend another relaxing week and dive a rebreather again. Book this resort and don't forget to ask for our discount.

Carpe Vita - Maldives - February 22, 2015
Testimonial from one of our Canadian divers.
"Hi Greg..! I loved the boat, I loved journeying south, I get bored of being hooked in watching sharks milling about. It's OK when there's really an amazing show with incredible visibility but day after day of the same thing, meh. Some of the currents were just too strong for me and I was swept away. Not that I particularly minded because it's kind of fun riding a current that's moving faster than a freight train. Heehee"
"What was personally disappointing to me, is when we got to the latter part of some of the dives we'd end up in some of the most beautiful coral gardens, I've seen. But there wasn't time to truly enjoy them because we'd spent so much time looking at a bunch of sharks whilst our bodies flapped off the ledge like flags in the wind. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat but would set things up to ensure more time at the coral gardens."
"In fact, might return with at least one couple if we can arrange our own dm, so as not to be stuck watching sharks! ;) so that said, what kind of deal can you swing for me on the special trip next December 30?"
- Sherryl L, Calgary Canada
