MV Legends liveaboard is available for full boat charters only and individual cabins are only offered as part of a group package. The ship is based in Hurghada, and provides a service like no other ship in the Red Sea. The experienced crew caters to all guests from that first snorkel experience to technical diving and rebreather diving past 100 meters. MV Legends will provide an unforgettable charter and guests will experience the best the Red Sea has to offer.
The Legends offers nine cabins, four double suites located on the upper deck and five twin cabins located on the lower deck. Guests experience some of the best views that the Egyptian Red Sea has to offer from the upper deck suites. The suites are perfect for diving couples or those who want to bring a non-diving partner to enjoy sunbathing, snorkelling, or the relaxing cruise. The cabins are cleaned daily throughout the charter and features include 220v electricity, reading lights, storage cupboards, ensuite bathroom, fresh towels for the bathroom and the dive deck, and custom-fit mattresses for a comfortable night’s sleep.
MV Legends brings a very different kind of scuba diving experience in the Red Sea. Catering to all levels of scuba diving, from your first dip in the water with a snorkel to 100m+ rebreather diving, Legends can make your trip to the Red Sea unforgettable with an unmatched level of service. All itineraries are subject to weather conditions. In adverse weather, we may find alternative dive sites in the interest of guest safety.
Recreational Diving: For recreational-certified divers, a charter on Legends offers divers the chance to enjoy a relaxed week, diving some of the most famous locations in the world as well as some hidden gems. By planning to do three dives per day, with a few selected night dive locations not just where the ship has anchored every night, divers can extend their dives to be more relaxed and take the time to really explore the mighty Thistlegorm or get that perfect nudibrach photo.
Technical Diving: With over fifteen years’ experience in technical diving and technical teaching, the Legends team can make sure it will be an experience like no other in Egypt. For technical-certified divers, everything about ship has been designed with the technical diver in mind. The ship offers oxygen, helium, gas boosters, a gas blending technician, technical dive guides (Up To 100m), and technical dive instructors qualified from recreational Trimix to 100m mixed gas rebreather diving. The ship also has stage cylinders with professional stage kits, rebreather cylinders (2 and 3 liter), carbon cylinders, and rebreather spares for some models all available on the boat. The ship carries over 150,000 liters of technical diving gases, has over thirty pairs of rebreather cylinders to suit all units, has ready-rigged stage cylinders filled with technical gases, and for your bailout, divers only pay for the gas they use and a small pumping fee. And the ship offers Molecular Products 797 and Intersurgical Dive Lime 812 carbon dioxide absorbent for rebreathers.
Package rates include full board accommodation, premium coffee, tea, soft drinks, snacks, airport transfers, stage cylinders, and 12L recreational cylinders. Rates exclude flights, Egyptian entry visa, Sofnolime, helium, 15L cylinders, and twinsets. Sofnolime is available onboard at €10.00 per kilo and helium is available at €0.09 per liter with prices subject to change due to import costs.

Dive Conditions

Diving conditions in the Red Sea are idyllic, with water temperatures rarely falling below 71°F/22°C even in the Egyptian winter (December - February). Topside weather conditions are equally pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 68°F-104°F (20°C -40°C) depending on the time of year.
Located in the Middle East, the Red Sea is a northern offshoot of the Indian Ocean. While these bodies of water share many of the same habitats and marine life, the Red Sea has evolved to provide unique habitats for numerous endemic species. Due to little rainfall, high evaporation, and a relatively isolated location, the Red Sea has one of the world's highest rates of salinity. These same factors also provide excellent diving conditions, and the Red Sea boasts a phenomenal 360 dive days a year. Furthermore, the Red Sea has few river tributaries feeding into it, which means limited microalgae allowing excellent dive visibility.
Diving is available in the Red Sea year-round. However, March to May and September to November are often cited as the best times to visit. Topside weather conditions are comfortable and the sea temperature isn’t too cold during these months, but this also attracts many other tourists, and dive sites can be extremely busy. During June, July, and August, uncomfortably hot topside temperatures mean resorts are quieter, but it's still worth considering since you may encounter hammerhead sharks on the outer dive sites.
Shore dives from the northern resorts and beaches are generally organized by the inhouse resort dive centers, and many offer unlimited diving on their house reef. Day trips out to Ras Mohammed and Tiran usually offer two or three dives from a day boat, often at busy sites with a lot of other divers and snorkelers. Many divers opt for a liveaboard trip which gives better access to remote areas where there are no crowds. Dives are generally from the back of the liveaboard or from tenders which take divers close to the reefs. Many Red Sea dives are drift dives, so the use of a safety sausage is mandatory.
