Part of the Pelagic Fleet, the Solmar V runs diving cruises to the Socorro Islands and Guadalupe Island. The ship travels with a 10-member crew and features the largest dive deck and camera table of all liveaboards operating in the Sea of Cortez. The ship offers two cabin categories, superior and standard, as well as single cabins for solo divers. Stateroom feature air conditioning, ensuite bathroom, and pillow-top mattress. Superior cabins are located in the center of the ship and are slightly larger. The lounge offers comfortable seating, a large screen TV, and an entertainment system. Personalized attention is the hallmark on the Solmar V. The Solmar V itineraries afford encounters with some of the world's largest marine creatures, including cage diving with great white sharks at Guadalupe Island and humpback whales at the Socorro Islands. Diving from the ship is easy from the as the large dive deck which includes a multi-level camera table, rinse tanks, and freshwater showers. The dive stations are positioned around the outside of the deck and the crew handles all dive gear. Some dives are done from a panga. The charter supports ocean conservation through its relationship with the Pelagic Life organization, which provides conservation and education programs.
SOLMAR V has a state-of-the-art titanium Nitrox membrane system installed and serviced by Nitrox Technologies. The ship offers nitrox at a charge but does not support technical diving or rebreathers.

All diving at Socorro Island is carried out by liveaboard. These vessels depart from Cabo San Lucas and generally spend about a week around the island and its neighbors. It takes approximately 24 hours transit time to reach this remote destination from th
It’s also important to note that diving at Socorro Island should not be attempted by novice divers. The currents are strong and unpredictable, relegating this to advanced divers only. Because of the biosphere regulations of Socorro Island, divers are proh
November to May is considered the best time to dive in Socorro Island. Liveaboards set sail for this remote island at this time, because the sea conditions in the Pacific are calmest during these months. The weather is generally sunny with occasional rain
Manta rays can be seen throughout the year in Socorro, but during the winter months, divers also have the chance of spotting a whale shark or one of the thousands of humpbacks that breed and calve in the area. At this time, visibility is negatively impact
Water Temperature ranges from 21-23C/70-74F during the winter and 24-28C/76-82f during late fall and spring. Usually, a 5mm wetsuit with an optional hooded vest works well at Socorro. Dive gloves are not permitted at Socorro by law. Underwater visibility
